‘Incredible’ People

A training and racing trip to Colombia produced a stack of adventures for two-time Paralympic medalist Jamie Whitmore in March.

“Enjoying some time in Colombia for training and the La Ruta de Colombia race!!” she wrote on Instagram. “It’s always a blast to hang with my teammate Freddie and get to know the Colombian Para cyclists!”

While she was there, Whitmore got a lot of assistance from locals while she was out riding.

“The people are incredible and so friendly! We were escorted by police one day for training, then a random car put their hazard lights and followed us for a bit another day and my favorite was a garbage truck who followed me for several miles to make sure I was safe!! I love it here!”

Roads Of Spring

Kate Brim, a two-time world champion, celebrated the first day of spring by hitting the road.

Great Golfing View

Brandon Lyons was recently in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, for the Players Championship. While he was there, he got a great view of the famous 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass, known as the “Island Green.”

Eyes On The Podium

After winning a bronze medal in a world cup competition last year in Belgium, handcyclist Owen Daniels is determined to reach the podium again.

“Winning bronze made me realize that everything me and my coach have been doing consistently for the last three years is finally paying off,” Daniels, of Fontana, California, told USParaCycling.org. “It also made me realize that instead of thinking about it as wanting to be in the mix and maybe a top 10 type of guy, that I can possibly podium consistently at world cup races that suit me. The bronze proved I could actually compete with the guys in the top 10 and I can continuously race with some of the best guys that I’ve looked up to in the sport for the longest time.”
