Jamie Whitmore Ties The Knot
It’s been quite the spring already for Jamie Whitmore. The two-time Paralympian has been away from her California home to compete in Alabama and then in Team USA’s world cup swing across Europe. All the while she was planning for her wedding.
All that planning paid off when she and Brian Meinz shared their vows earlier this month. On Instagram Whitmore wrote:
“What a DAY!!!
“I present to you Mr. and Mrs. MEINZ!!!
“I finally married my best friend.”
Masters Shares Story At Tory Burch Conference
When you’re a star like 17-time Paralympic medalist Oksana Masters, the invitations keep on coming. This time the multi-sport superstar walked the red carpet and shared her story at the Embrace Ambition Summit put on by the Tory Burch Foundation, an organization that aims to empower women and women entrepreneurs.
“There is nothing more powerful than being surrounded by strong and ambitious women who are breaking glass ceilings & using their voices for generations to come in sports, fashion, politics, business, and entertainment,” Masters wrote.

Competitions Coming
Finding a high-level cycling race was no easy feat for the past two years. That’s begun to change in a big way, and two more championship events have been added to the docket for 2022.
The USA Cycling Para-cycling Road National Championships will be held July 9-10 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Another domestic event, the USA Cycling Para-cycling Track National Championships, follow Sept. 9-10 in Carson, California.

Looking Ahead To 2023 Parapan Ams
Speaking of upcoming competitions, organizers in Santiago, Chile, recently announced the venues for the 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games. Track cycling races will be held at Peñalolen Park, while the road races will take place on the streets of the Chilean capital.
ICYMI 1: Muffy Gets The Call To The Hall
Three individual Paralympians were selected for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame’s Class of 2022, including Muffy Davis. Known early in her career as an alpine skier, Davis won three medals between the 1998 and 2002 Paralympic Winter Games. Ten years later she was back, but this time at the Summer Games in London as a Para-cyclist, where she won three gold medals. The induction ceremony was Friday night in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Here’s how her hometown newspaper, the Idaho Press, covered the news.
ICYMI 2: Biscuit Gets The Presidential Treatment
When more than 600 Olympians and Paralympians visited the White House in May as part of Team USA Week, the delegation included a couple service animals. Among them was Biscuit, the 9-year-old black Labrador and companion to Paralympic cyclist Monica Sereda. Biscuit was pictured getting a big snuggle pet from President Joe Biden, and TeamUSA.org caught up with Sereda to talk about the experience afterward.
