Tingley, Tandem Team of Chadwick and Espinoza, Added to 2024 Paralympic Games Roster

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – U.S. Paralympics Cycling today announced the selection of two athletes and a pilot to its Paralympic Games Paris 2024 roster following the allocation of two additional roster slots from the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
All first-time Paralympians, the tandem duo of Hannah Chadwick (El Cerrito, California) and Skyler Espinoza (Freeport, Maine) and handcyclist Matt Tingley (Rochester Hills, Michigan) will join the13 cyclists named to the 2024 Paralympic Team earlier this week.
“We were so excited to get the news from the IPC that allows us to expand our team for Paris,” Ian Lawless, director, U.S. Paralympics Cycling, said. “Matt, Hannah and Skyler are all incredibly deserving, and we’re delighted that they will all be making their Paralympic debuts for us this year.”
Specializing in track cycling and competing in the WB class, Chadwick and Espinoza have experienced a meteoric rise in the sport since they made their first major international appearance as a team at the 2023 UCI Para-Cycling World Championships, where they took bronze in the sprint. They also teamed for a Parapan American Games title this past winter in Santiago, Chile.
Tingley, meanwhile, has made his mark in the MH4 classification, where he debuted for Team USA this spring in the Ostend, Belgium and Maniago, Italy, world cup competitions. Tingley teamed with fellow 2024 Paralympians Kate Brim (Lowell, Michigan) and Travia Gaertner (Burien, Washington) for gold in the Maniago handcycle relay.
U.S. Paralympics Cycling also announced its new team alternates Paralympic bronze medalist Ryan Pinney (Phoenix, Arizona) will join Branden Walton (Windsor, California) and his pilot Spencer Seggebruch (Saint Louis, Minnesota) as men’s alternates, while eight-time Paralympic medalist Allison Jones (Colorado Springs, Colorado) will serve as women’s alternate.
